Europe is scaling citizens' assemblies. Who is training the facilitators? As deliberative processes move from experiment to infrastructure, the question of facilitation quality can no longer wait.

FIDE and We Do Democracy have developed the Deliberative Facilitation Training, a three-level programme designed to take practitioners from foundational participation design to leading full deliberative processes. This September, they are running Level 3, the Lead Facilitator Masterclass, September 14 to 16 in Copenhagen. This is not an introduction to facilitation. It is for people who already have substantial general facilitation experience or have worked inside deliberative project teams, and who are ready to take full responsibility for the design, execution, and integrity of a complete deliberative process.

By the end of the program, participants will be equipped to design a citizens' assembly from start to finish, understand how to curate balanced information for diverse assembly members, have practiced skills in mediation and managing group dysfunctions, and receive feedback from an international trainer team: Yves Dejaeghere (FIDE), Zakia Elvang (We Do Democracy), and Jacob Birkenhäger.
