Advanced training

The advanced level includes 10 modules:

• Module 1: Rationales of citizen engagement
• Module 2: Planning of citizen engagement
• Module 3: Co-creation methods
• Module 4: Deliberative democracy methods
• Module 5: Online participation
• Module 6: Participant recrutement
• Module 7: Facilitation techniques
• Module 8: Evaluation of participatory processes
• Module 9: Follow up on the mandate
• Module 10: Exploitation and dissemination of results

To ensure a solid foundation of co-creation and deliberative processes, participants are required to take Modules 1 ('Rationales of citizen engagement’) and Module 2 (‘Planning of citizen engagement’). The other modules are grouped to reflect the mastering of specific competences and are offered into 3 packages:  

• Methods (M3 co-creation methods, M4 deliberative democracy methods)
• Implementation (M5 online participation, M6 participant recrutement, M7 facilitation techniques)
• Follow up (M8 evaluation of participatory processes, M9 follow up on the mandate, M10 dissemination of results) 

Depending on the competence package of your choice, after completing the course, you will: 

• Be able to plan and implement a recruitment process.
• Know how to choose between co-creation and deliberative techniques and how do you combine them.
• Organise a follow up process and the effective use the results of citizen processes in policy making.
