Description

Climate targets on their own do not guarantee success.

To achieve them, concrete measures and a joint learning process between science, politics, business and society are needed. Citizens have thus been engaged in the research on the energy transition from the very beginning of the Ariadne project through a variety of dialogue formats. Citizens are involved in research questions regarding the transport, electricity and heating transition and distributional effects of climate measures.

There is a continuous alternation between citizen events, such as online discussions and citizen conferences, and Ariadne research phases. The focus is on a common understanding of the challenges and viable solutions. Ariadne explores energy transition strategies and their systemic effects, as well as sectoral interactions, and investigates how policy instruments can achieve climate goals in an efficient and socially balanced way.
