European Convention on Democracy Technologies in Europe

European Convention on Democracy Technologies in Europe

Description

The first European Convention on Democracy Technologies in Europe is taking place on 11 May 2023 in the Palace of Culture and Science in Warsaw. Democracy technologies are at the heart of the conference this year as we see a rising demand for new methods, tools and sharing of experiences. This “new democratic infrastructure” has a strong impact on the development of democracy in Europe.

The Convention is part of the yearly Innovation in Politics Awards and is held in cooperation with Participation Factory. We bring together local-government representatives, experts in online participation, deliberation and e-voting, and the most relevant technology companies in this field.

This year’s event will be hosted by the Mayor of Warsaw, Rafael Trzaskowski, and takes place under the auspices of the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Marija Pejčinović Burić and under the patronage of the Vice-President of the European Commission, Dubravka Šuica.

The convention will offer you to catch up with the latest trends and developments in the field of democracy technologies as well as to exchange best practices with technology companies, organisations, experts and representatives of local and regional governments from around Europe.
