Join the Community of Practice of the Competence Centre on Participatory and Deliberative Democracy (CC-DEMOS)

The European Commission’s Joint Research Centre has been running the Community of Practice of the Competence Centre on Participatory and Deliberative Democracy (CC-DEMOS) since its inauguration in 2018. The Community of Practice (CoP) is a way to foster collaboration between people – to bring groups with different knowledge perspectives together and strengthen their capacity to work and learn creatively together. You can find out more about the objectives and mission of the Community of Practice in the About section.

There are a number of ways that you can get involved:

  1. As a first step, sign up to our newsletter to receive the latest news and information within our Community of Practice.
  2. Register through our website. After creating an account in our website, you will be able to upload information about your organisation and citizen engagement projects in our Citizen Engagement Navigator; to write content for our blog; or to post in the discussion forum.
  3. You can also play a more meaningful role in the Community, for example, to collaborate on research and reports, or to support training activities, our specific projects and events. The best way to get involved in this way is to fill out our survey so that we know you are interested and in what way(s) you would like to contribute. We will then aim to get back to you when an opportunity that meets your interests arises.
  4. Finally, we welcome you to contact us directly through the email EU-CITIZEN-ENGAGEMENT@ec.europa.eu to ask specific questions, tell us about your work, or set up a meeting to chat with the team.
