Mateusz is a policy analyst working at the European Commission’s Competence Centre on Participatory and Deliberative Democracy. His main responsibilities include coordinating research projects on the engagement of citizens in addressing biodiversity-related issues and organising the Public Participation and Deliberative Democracy Festival hosted by the Competence Centre. With an eclectic background in humanities and a focus on environmental studies, he is particularly interested in how participatory processes can help address the many environmental crises we are confronting.
