Anne Nielsen is a policy adviser in the sector of Scientific Impact and Feedback to Policy at the European Research Council Executive Agency (ERCEA). She joined ERCEA in 2017, initially working in the Social Sciences and Humanities unit before transitioning to the feedback to policy sector. Prior to joining ERCEA, Anne worked in DG Research and Innovation within the unit overseeing the H2020 Societal Challenge 6 work programme: "Europe in a changing world – inclusive, innovative, and reflective societies." With a background in sociology and cultural studies, she holds a PhD from the European University Institute in Florence. Preceding her work in the European Commission, she spent two years as a postdoctoral fellow at Yale University and has worked in think tanks and international NGOs, concentrating on migration, women’s rights, and child protection.
